The ‘compact and flexible’ Rokinon XEEN CF line has been expanded by another two lenses. The new 16mm and 35mm now make up a family of 5 of these smaller and lighter lenses.

In September last year, Rokinon made the initial announcement of the XEEN CF Lens line.

With that announcement, the 24mm, 50mm and 85mm arrived – with promise of a 16mm and 35mm in Q1 of 2020, and here we are!

The new 16mm (T2.6) and 35mm (T1.5) slot straight into the line up, and are available in 3 mounts (PL, EF and Sony E).

This is a very interesting concept for may reasons. I would like to use the new Rokinon Xeen prime lenses on a Blackmagic Ursa Mini camera. Since the front diameter on those lenses is 114mm have a variable ND filter behind the lens would be very useful.

Samyang Optics has announced two new lenses due out this October under their Rokinon branding. The first piece of glass announced is a 50mm f/1.2 lens, while the second is a 21mm f/1.4. Both products are compatible with Canon EF-M, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, and Sony E mounts. The lenses are entirely manual focus but feature aspherical elements, with the 21mm housing an extra-low dispersion element, for increased image clarity.

The Rokinon 50mm f/1.2 is designed as a prime portrait lens, providing a 75mm equivalent focal length on APS-C cameras and 100mm focal length on Micro Four Thirds systems. The fast f/1.2 maximum aperture allows for low light shooting and precise control over your depth of field while a nine-blade aperture promises smooth bokeh.

The Rokinon 21mm f/1.4 is a wide-angle lens that provides a 31.5mm equivalent focal length on APS-C cameras and a 42mm focal length on Micro Four Thirds systems. Also equipped with a maximum aperture excellent for low light conditions, the 21mm will allow you to capture photos within tight spaces.

Within the 21mm lens you will once again find nine rounded diaphragm blades for smooth bokeh and elements coated with Rokinon’s ‘Ultra Multi-Coating’. This lens features eight elements in seven groups without an extra-low dispersion element; it does, however, contain three aspherical elements.
